The Lovely Left Handers

I am left handed.

I dunno if it was a blessing or a curse.

But that's what God decided to make me.

For the most part I love being left handed because it's one of my differences that really stands out

Did you know that only 10% of the world's population is left handed??

I guess you could actually say that I am ambidextrous.

I write with my left hand...

but, everything else I do with my right hand.

Cut.

Play sports

well, except tennis. I serve with my right hand.

Well...wait...

that's all I can think of that I do with my right hand.

Because I

eat

throw a ball

golf

kick

brush my pearly whites

...all with my left hand.

I can bat with either.

So does that make my left or right handed?

Or both?

Ambidextrous???

I am definitely right brained.

I'm horrible at math

but

I'm great at art and writing.

Anything creative I'm good at.

The reason I don't like math is because there is ONLY ONE exact answer.

Why is that?

Whoever invented that whole one answer concept, I would like to have a word with them!

The reason I love art, English, art history, writing is because there is NO RIGHT answer!

How fun is that?!

Whoever invented that brilliant concept, I would like to hug them!

I think very "outside the box"

I read in between the lines.

I don't read the directions.

 I just look at the pictures and go from there.

Nothing to me is "clutter".

I see it as a "creative mess"

I like to draw squiggle lines.

Not straight ones.

Mac 'n Cheese please.

I am a self proclaimed huge Mac 'n Cheese fan.

Perhaps it might quite be my favorite food of all time.

If it's on a menu, I order it.

It's my comfort food.

It's the one dish that I remember growing up on.

It brings out the inner kid in me.

I'm still in love with it and my grandma's is still the best.

But...

Every now and then I like to change it up a bit.

Give Mac 'n Cheese a grown up makeover.

  Lobster mac 'n cheese

Black truffle mac 'n cheese.

White mac 'n cheese.

Tonight I had some dear friends of mine over and I decided to mix it up a bit and make mac 'n cheese for them.

I tried a new recipe that tons of people had raved about on my favorite website Pinterest.

Come to find out, it was a Martha Stewart recipe.

Now, when I was little I wanted to be Martha Stewart when I grew up.

and now at 25 a part of me still does.

So you could imagine how excited I was when the link led to me to her site.

Anything Martha Stewart comes out quite delish.

This mac 'n cheese will knock your socks off!

So yummy. 

So cheesy.

With a smidgen of heat.

It was a tad bit complicated because you have to make in it two parts.

but well well worth it.

Saturday Morning Market

It's Saturday!

No work.

No classes.

The thing I look forward to the most on Saturdays is downtown St. Pete's morning market.

It's one of St. Pete's hidden gems.

Especially on such a beautiful day today.

The air is so crisp and clean.

The bright sunshine is out.

The people are out and busy.

So I grab my favorite pair of jeans.

A comfy old rugged sweatshirt.

Throw my hair back into a messy bun.

Grab some fab sunglasses.

Mascara.

Lipgloss.

and out the door I go...

My first stop of the day.

Starbucks

Venti.

Vanilla.

Iced Coffee.

with milk.

My staple of the day.

Grab my coffee from the cute baristo.

"Thanks, Have a nice day."

and off I go!

Smiling because I finally have my cup of joe.

A very short walk later I'm at the market.

There are so many great vendors there.

 restaurants.

 bakeries.

 florists.

 bread artisans.

jewelry.

music.

...all local artists from the St.Pete area.

This is one of my favs because the food is delish and the don't use paper or plastic. They use "real" serving dishes, and every time someone order a dish 50 cents goes to the SPCA.

Happy Friday! Well happy Friday night actually.

As all of us girls know, our hair is probably the most protected thing on our bodies.

It's our security blanket.

Our best assest.

We can change it with our mood.

Short.

Long.

Straight.

Curly.

It's what makes us...us.

Trust me.

I have had my hair probably a hundred different ways.

Starting with highlights my freshman year of high school.

Then there was the epic red and black streaks. Those are "natural" colors right?

Then in between my junior and senior year I went pink.

Then back to long and blond.

Then brunette.

Then blond.

Then short and blond.

Then short, blond, and few stray pink streaks.

And now...

it's back to long and blond, but with bangs.

And I am obsessed!

I love bangs on any girl.

Especially a blunt front bang almost covering your eyebrow.

Side bangs.

Longs bangs.

Wispy bangs.

They grow back really fast too. So if you don't like them, no worries.

The bottle is pink and black, with the bottom half of the bottle covered in fishnet which literally makes the bottle look like it's wearing a Too Too.

Whimsy and Sparkle

So I'm sure that to whoever may be reading this first post is wondering why I titled this blog "Whimsy and Sparkle"?

Well, I love the word whimsy and I also love anything that sparkles.

 "Whimsy" coming from the word whimsical reminds me of anything

dainty.

little.

fluffy.

cute.

and happy.

Also one of my most favorite place on earth is a quaint little scrapbooking store downtown, that when I walk in there all is right with the world. So, it's also a tribute them.

I also would like to think that my writing style is a little whimsical.

Now, as for the sparkle.

sparkle.

glitter.

sequins.

rhinestones.

and "bling".

All of that makes me one happy chick-a-dee!

So why not add it to the title of my blog?
